I loved the Little House books and read them over and over as a young girl.

Unforgiven might be the best western ever put to film - but I also really like Open Range (the cinematography on that film is just....awe-inspiring). And am I bad person to admit that the best part about Tombstone for me is Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday? I can honestly take or leave the rest of it, but man, I love Kilmer in that one.

Robert Duvall = awesome

Kristie and I were just talking about Cherish by Catherine Anderson the other day. I really need to reread that one to see if it holds up for me. Oh, and it was reprinted recently!

Keli ~ I fought my mom tooth and nail not to read Little House and when I finally did - on a bribe - I thanked her over and over.

Wendy ~
Val is the reason that movie is so great. I mean, who else can say "I'll be your Huckleberry" and get away with it? And you are right, half the reason I love Open Range is for the cinematography. I saw it in the theater and it was just ... wow.

Emily: I do believe you are a prime candidate to become a 'Driver'. I'm planning on letting readers know near the end, but since you are really on board already and will take no convincing at all *g* (gotta love that) to become a 'driver' all one has to do is buy and promise to read a Western. Then you can put the Icon on your blog too. All 3 of us will be having give-aways. I'm not sure how you enter for Wendy or Sybil's - that's one of the things we haven't figured out yet, but at Ramblings, if you sign up for The Great Western Drive, you will be entered. But that's later on in the week - with more details coming. I hope you drop by and visit all of us every day!!

I was a big Little House fan too

I am now stuck on the Metallica song "Unforgiven."

It's not entirely a bad thing....
